Parents Keep Going You’re Doing Just Fine!

It would be amazing if life was filled with people who cheered and supported our efforts. Life isn’t always easy. Unfortunately, there are many critics and hecklers who will not be satisfied with our parenting abilities. Parenting can be difficult.

Our parenting skills are affected by social media today. It can influence how people perceive us and how they see us. According to studies, Facebook has led to an increase in a phenomenon called “social comparison.” This is not always a good thing. Social comparison can increase our anxiety and lead to feeling that our lives are lacking something. It seems that most people are having more fun on Facebook than we are. But, we only see a small part of their lives. We see only the posts and photos they want… Guess which ones? You’re right. You’re not wrong.

Parents are bound to feel self-doubt, but social comparisons can make it worse. Sometimes, we feel like we are failing miserably. However, I want to assure you that you aren’t failing miserably. We all have doubts sometimes about our ability to parent well and whether we are good enough. Let’s not get too attached to self-doubt or self-criticism. Let’s not compare ourselves to others and stop worrying about what is missing or unattainable. Let’s instead celebrate what we have and what knowledge we do. We do know that children are resilient when they feel loved. We love them deeply, don’t you?

My Granddaddy used to say, “Go learn, lead, and lay the path for a better world.” Keep going, parents. You are doing fine. Parents, thank you again for everything you do and will do.
